Proteins: In this regard, it could be argued that she has a grasp of the most fundamental fact about proteins, namely, that they are the materia prima of the body. They are required for the growth of new tissues, repair and regeneration of damaged and worn out tissues. Sources include; lean meats, fish, beans, nuts and dairy products.
Fats:
Otherwise known as polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, these are useful for the brain and in the production of hormones and in the absorption of vitamins. Dietary fats especially the unsaturated fats which are present in olive oil, avocados, and nuts should be consumed.
Vitamins and Minerals:
These are important for many different processes in the body such as for protection against diseases, digestion, and blood clotting. That is why a healthy diet, which includes fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products, often meets the body’s needs for vitamins and minerals.
